Indian Criket - A Slap in the Face Makes Me Laugh

Shanthakumaran Sreesanth crying after being slapped by his team mateWhat a wonderful moment for Australian cricket fans to see Indian fast bowler Shanthakumaran Sreesanth in tears. He was the one responsible for the taunts against our favourite son Andrew Symonds during the Aussies recent successful tour of India.

Sreesanth broke down after his Indian team mate Harbhajan Singh slapped him following Mumbai’s loss to King’s XI Punjab in the IPL series. Harbhajan captained Mumbai and he slapped Sreesanth following the match.

Just when Aussie cricket fans thought nothing could brighten our day more than a bubbling Sreesanth, news of Harbhajan’s fine and suspension from the remaining IPL matches was broadcasted. A suspension believed to be worth approximately $700 000.

I’m sure laughter and cries of “It Serves Him Right” broke across Australia simultaneously when news of this hit the airwaves. Our two most loathed Indian players have had a blue, one cried, the other was suspended. Harbhajan escaped suspension earlier this year after he allegedly racially abused Andrew Symonds.

Forget the TV rights and sponsorship dollars that the IPL has attracted, every cricket loving person in Australia would have paid to see this one. I’m sure Andrew Symonds had an attack of the giggles when he heard about this debacle. The two players that taunted him are now having cat fights in the middle of the field.

The next entertainment for Aussie cricket fans will be the showdown between another pair of our cricketing enemies, Arjuna Ranatunga fighting his former fellow Sri Lankan team mate Muttiah Muralitharan. My money is on the double jointed Muralitharan. Watch out for the doosra Arjuna!!

Please MainEvent, can you broadcast this one for all Aussie cricket fans?
